Looks like Dior has a thing for black swans. Following the success of Natalie Portman’s campaigns for Miss Dior Cherie fragrance last year, the French fashion house has snapped up her Black Swan co-star Mila Kunis to front their new campaign. The softly-lit images for the label’s Spring 2012 collection show the 28-year-old Ukraine-born actress dressed in black, posing with the new Miss Dior handbag.
Despite defining herself as a jeans and T-shirt girl, Mila is “absolutely thrilled” to be working with Dior. “The brand is iconic in so many ways; it defines fashion, elegance and sophistication,” she said.
Arnault added “Christian Dior designed several costumes for the movies and maintained personal relationships with such actresses as Marlene Dietrich, Rita Hayworth, Ava Gardner, Sophia Loren, Marilyn Monroe, Liz Taylor and Grace Kelly. It is thus only natural for the house of Dior to continue to develop a very specific and personal relationship with actresses.”
However, Mila insists she’s no budding fashionista. “I’m honestly just learning about fashion. I find that Dior is an incredibly grounded house. I’ve always thought that what Dior does is so sophisticated, feminine and beautiful.”
